Safety is our number one priority. That is why there will be members of the MEDICAL CREW and/or local ambulance service out on the course until the last runner reaches the finish line. If you have a medical problem, please call the medical information hotline or ask another runner to do so for you. In emergency situations please ask another runner to carry out first aid while you wait for the medical team to arrive. Important! All runners MUST provide first aid to other competitors who are in need. Don’t worry about losing time – any time loss incurred as the result of helping another runner will be deducted from your overall time at the finish line.
The alpine environment can be challenging and unpredictable, so it may take a while for the medical team to arrive. We therefore call on all runners to take responsibility for their own welfare and be sensible. If you are feeling unwell it is better to abandon the race too early rather than too late – ideally at one of checkpoints or feed stations along the course. If you have recently passed a checkpoint or feed station and wish to abandon, please go back and ask for help.
